Do you love personal finance audiobooks? Audiobooks are my favorite way to consume personal finance information while I’m working out or driving. I’ve loved reading personal finance audiobooks for two decades. If I look back, I can track my money journey and financial progress almost entirely through my reading list.

best personal finance audiobooks

First, when I realized that we were drowning in debt after overspending in college and my husband’s years in the military, I devoured books about paying off debt.

Then, when we finally had our debt payoff under control but were desperately trying to live within our means because we were raising a young child, I read countless books about budgeting and controlling spending.

Now, because we’re in the phase of life where we’re investing, paying down our mortgage, and saving for our son’s college expenses, those books are at the top of my e-reader list. Of course, because I am also interested in financial independence and eventual retirement, I work in a few of those money audiobooks in as well.

Best Personal Finance Audiobooks to Read

The best bang for your buck when it comes to cheap audiobooks is an Audible subscription. Audible even lets you try out their service for free for 30 days, and it’s easy to sign up via Amazon. With an Audible subscription, you get two free books a month for a low price (and many of the books included on the list are included).

If you’re looking for the best personal finance audiobooks to read, here’s my list of top money book picks:

Paying Off Debt & Budgeting Personal Finance Audiobooks

The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness Audiobook

Living Well, Spending Less: 12 Secrets of the Good Life Audiobook

Soukup runs a successful blogging empire, but her book is an inspiring story about how her family reduced stress in their budget and at home.

The Recovering Spender: How to Live a Happy, Fulfilled, Debt-Free Life Audiobook

Once you’ve gotten a handle on budgeting and paying off debt, Robin’s book can help you envision a future where your relationship with money is healthy and abundant. One of the key concepts in Robin’s book is determining the tradeoff between money and time – and how much of your life you’re willing to spend in exchange for material goods.

The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Rich Audiobook

Think only whiz kid software developers and Wall Street financial gurus have a shot at being rich? Stanley’s book is a bit dated, but its eye-opening premise – most of America’s millionaires are living next door to you but doing things totally differently – changed how I thought about spending, wealth accumulation, and long-term financial planning. This book is heavily based in research.

Written by a former admissions counselor, this book is a must-read for prospective college students and their parents. There’s a lot to learn from this college finance audiobook.
