Stay at Home Mom Jobs #1 – Start Your Own Moneymaking Blog

One of the best stay at home mom jobs is to start your own moneymaking blog. Unlike a regular job, there’s no limit to the amount you can earn to support your family with these home based jobs.

Don’t believe me? Here are some examples of stay at home moms who rocked their own blog side hustle into lots of cash.

  • Sarah – This single mom was homeless but she turned her adversity and desire for a stay at home mom job into a wildly successful blog. Now her moneymaking blog brings in hundreds of thousands for her family every month!
  • Crystal – This mom started a moneymaking blog while her husband was in law school. Now she creates and produces courses and books and sells them via her incredibly successful moneymaking blog.

When it comes to stay at home mom jobs, blogging has the potential for great financial gain compared to other home based jobs. You can make thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars a month blogging. And there is a very good chance you will earn money with blogging if you get your blog set up the right way and commit to consistently writing quality blog posts.

The best news for stay at home parents? Blogging is low-risk and doesn’t have to cost a lot to get started. Your out-of-pocket costs will typically be less than $10 a month. You can do it while your child is napping, at school, or after he or she has gone to bed.

In fact, I can’t think of too many other businesses or mommy jobs that offer this much potential for reward for expenses of less than $10 a month!

Best Way to Start Your Own Blog

What’s the best way to start your own blog?

Choosing a web host is the first and most important step in creating a blog.

You can choose a free blog host, but if you want to have a moneymaking blog, it will be a lot easier to monetize your blog if you use a paid hosting plan. You don’t want to get in a situation where you have to spend a lot of time and money switching from a free to a paid plan later.

Bluehost is a very popular hosting service (and the one I use for my moneymaking blog!). As a new blogger, you want a reliable web host who offers a lot of value for the money.

Bluehost is THE BEST for value and customer service. (if you have any questions, you can simply call their 24/7 customer service line!) Bluehost is such an awesome company that they’ve offered exclusive pricing for my readers.

Sign up through my link for pricing starting at only $2.95 a month, PLUS you get a FREE domain name ($15 value) when you sign up for a year in advance.

Want the best value in hosting? Sign up for a year or more upfront to get the best deal. Not only is it the cheapest hosting plan, but you don’t have to worry about remembering to pay another bill every single month. If you ever decide to cancel, they’ll refund you the unused portion of your package, so it’s worry free.

Stay at Home Mom Jobs #3 – Proofreading

I have worked at home for the past 21 years, and the very first home based job I had was PROOFREADING!

If you have great English and grammar skills, proofreading is the perfect stay at home mom job.

When I started my proofreading business, the Internet was in its infancy and I had to reach out to proofreading clients via snail mail and email. It was an arduous task, and there were certainly no courses to make it easier.

But stay at home parents now have easy access to all the information they need to start working with clients who need an extra set of eyes on their written words.

There’s a lot of demand for accurate and clean copy in today’s marketplace. Businesses, bloggers, and online marketers depend on proofreaders to make their content easy to read and helpful to their audiences.

How do you get started? You can get access to a FREE WEBINAR about the skills you need to start your freelance proofreading side hustle. This informative online course will give you the exact steps you need to start home based jobs proofreading for blogs or websites.

Stay at Home Mom Jobs #4 Flipping Items for Profit

Do you enjoy going to yard sales and thrift stores? Are you a bargain hunter? If so, then flipping items for profit (sometimes called reselling) might be the perfect stay at home mom job for you!

Making flipping money by selling online is easier than ever. Today there are more platforms to sell on, more money making apps to use to price and sell your items, and more places to purchase items to flip.

In 2017, I made over $5,000 per month flipping items for money. It was the perfect job for a mom, dad, or anyone who needs a flexible schedule.

Here are the basics of flipping:

  • Find an item (used or new) at a low cost that you can sell for a profit. Purchase it.
  • List the item on one of the many apps you can use to sell your items. Click here to get the rundown on the best moneymaking apps.
  • Ship the item to your customer or meet them in person.
  • Enjoy the profit you make on your item.

Finding Things to Flip for Cash

Where can you find the easiest things to flip for profit?

  • Thrift stores (Goodwill, Savers, St. Vincent DePaul, church and community run stores)
  • Used building supply stores (Habitat for Humanity)
  • Church sales
  • Rummage, yard, and garage sales
  • Library and university book sales
  • Your own house, your mom’s house, and your grandma’s house
  • Estate sales (look at auctionzip.com and estatesales.net)
  • Storage auctions
  • Wholesale / bulk sellers
  • Liquidation stores
  • Retail stores (in their clearance or regular stock)
  • Craigslist, Ebay, and other online selling sites

When buying items to flip for profit, you want to buy low and sell high to get the most profit. That means you have to know approximately how much you can sell your item for on Ebay, Poshmark, Amazon, or Craigslist.

There are so many items you can flip for profit. You might get started with a category you know very well, such as women’s fashion or baby items or stuffed animals / plush. You can even buy clothing in bulk wholesale and resell it individually for profit.

I’ve created a list of 50 Easiest Things to Flip for Profit for my readers – check it out here. If you can find any of these items, you can make a great profit online. Also, check out the site Side Hustle Nation and podcast for a ton of side hustle ideas for stay at home moms.

I agree. I wanted to start flipping too. Too tired to work as an employee. So much demand. It sounds like it’s fun and exploiting your creativity. Emptying your rubbish but others treasure is a kind of thing. Thanks.
